York Barbell Vintage 15 lbs. Round Head Dumbbells
These are overall really good condition.
"York's earliest dumbbells--dating from the 1930's until the 1970's or 80's--were an interesting mish-mash of designs. Weights were: 1 to 10-lbs; 12 lbs; and in 5-lb increments from 15 to 100-lbs. Dumbbells up to 45 pounds are known as "buns", and 50 to 100 pounds are "globes", because of the way they look. Of the buns, the 40-lb'ers are very similar to the later Roundheads. Some buns have a "US" after the weight, with some also painted white instead of black. It is believed that the "US" markings may have been for government contracts during WWII. This is unverified. Other buns have been seen with "USN" markings on them, presumably for the U.S. Navy. Of the buns and globes, the 12-lb buns are the rarest of all, with only three such dumbbells known to exist."
