Please note:
One of the blue handles has 2 punctures/cuts in the padding. (Can be seen in photos 5,6,7 & 8)
(These punctures were present when I purchased this set, and they have not got any worse/larger in the 8 months I have used them. I just wanted to point this out for full transparency.)

I tried to take many detailed photos so that you can see the condition clearly.
The 4 chrome weights screw on to the blue bar/handle to make a dumbbell.
Each chrome disc/weight has a marking that reads "3 LBS".
What this means is as follows:
The chrome weights do not weight 3 pounds each, even though they read "3 LBS".
When 2 of the weights are screwed onto each side of a handle, the dumbbell weighs 3 pounds total.
2 weights + 1 blue handle = 3 pounds
So, if you use all 4 of the weights with the blue handles, you will have 2 dumbbells that weight 3 pounds each.
